Hank lends a hand for 3WAY
Hank lends a hand for 3WAY - published in the Warrnambool Standard Sept. 14th 2015
AMERICAN country music icon Hank Williams died in 1953, but he’s still doing his bit for Warrnambool community station 3WAY FM
The annual Hank Williams tribute night has been running since 1999 and takes place on Thursday at City Memorial Bowls Club from 7pm.
Organised by Hank fan Mick Schack, the night stars over a dozen south-west acts and is 3WAY FM’s major fund-raiser for the year.
As well as Hank songs, this year’s theme is “place names”, in honour of such Williams songs as Alabama Waltz, Tennessee Border and California Zephyr.
Acts on the bill include Big Love, Lee “Sonnyboy” Morgan, Tank Dilemma, Trevor Keilar, Kayla Dwyer, Lost In Suburbia, and Robyn Gleeson, Streamline, and more.
