WARRNAMBOOL musician Richard Tankard has claimed a win at the Australian Blues Music Festival.
Tankard is the keyboard player for the band Geoff Achison & the Souldiggers.
The act was named as the Group of the Year at the Chain Australian Blues Awards at the festival on Saturday in Goulburn.
Tankard also played keyboard on Geoff Achison’s solo record, Another Mile, Another minute, which won the Album of the Year title and the song of the year by Achison, Working My Way Back Home.
Tankard said he was thrilled with the awards.
“It is a great reward, particularly for Geoff, who works really hard,” Tankard said.
“Being part of a team like that is always good and it’s nice to be recognised.”
Another Mile, Another Minute was released nationally last year. On March 3, it will be launched worldwide online and through US label Landslide Records.
