Youth to take stage at Folkie

ON STAGE: Four-piece band Since Tuesday is one of the acts that will be playing at the youth concert at this year's Port Fairy Folk Festival.
FOUR emerging acts from across the south-west will get a chance to display their talents at the Port Fairy Folk Festival.
Gabby Steel, Tiosav Joy, Since Tuesday and Dream Season have been chosen to perform as part of the Folkie’s fringe festival.
The acts will play at a youth concert at the St Patrick’s Parish Primary School hall in Port Fairy on Monday, March 13.
They will be joined by the runner-up of television show The Voice, Adam Ladell.
Ladell will use the show to launch his new single. The youth concert is an initiative of the Moyne Youth Council.
Moyne Shire youth development officer Geraldine Edar paid tribute to folk festival director Caroline Moore and her committee.
“The support we have had from Caroline and the committee to hold the concert has been amazing,” Ms Edar said. “The performers are really excited to be part of it. Hopefully it can be an ongoing thing.”
Ms Moore said the festival committee was pleased to endorse the concert.
“This concert is a big part of what we are about, promoting great talent,” Ms Moore said.
“Geraldine approached us about the concert and the stars aligned. We have the capacity to host it and the music fits the festival.”
