Potential Kate Cebranos or B.B. Kings had their chance to perform before a live audience yesterday during an informal jam session at the Killarney Hotel. The gathering, organised by the South West Musicians' Club, was one of the many the club has had since its inception three years ago. Performer's ability was as varied as the musical styles which included jazz, rock and roll, and rhythm and blues. Club member Stewart Nucky said every musician, from regular band members to those who only play at home, were welcome at the jam sessions. "Anything can happen and it usually does. A lot get up and have a go after a while", Mr. Nucky said. He said the club had about 100 members. Mr. Nucky has seen a resurgence in the Warrnambool music industry during the last few years. "There seems to be a lot more bands and a lot more quality bands in Warrnambool and district" he said. He said jam sessions encouraged involvement and had proven an ideal way for musicians to get to know each other.
