ALTERING her weekend plans has been a welcome task for Killarney singer-songwriter Nancie Schipper. The emerging performer was planning to attend the Live at the Steps concert with friends at Treasury Gardens in Melbourne on Friday night. But Schipper will now be playing at the concert after winning a statewide triple j Unearthed competition. She will share the stage with national acts including Skegss, Tired Lion, Mallrat and Baker Boy. The show will cap off a big week for Schipper who is in the middle of a stint as triple j Unearthed’s feature artist of the week. This has included Schipper, 17, being interviewed live on air as well as airplay for her hit singles Corner Store and Your Eyes. “Being the feature artist is great exposure for me, it’s such a good opportunity,” Schipper said. “Playing at Live at the Steps will be amazing, to be on the same stage as some of my favourite bands will be incredible.”Schipper’s new album Sleep Talking will be launched on December 9.
