The  cellar of Warrnambool’s Criterion Hotel has been brewing up some live local talent. Open Mic nights, held in the cellar every second Thursday, are attracting aspiring bands, solo musicians, comics and poets. An initiative of South West TAFE students, Open Mic  nights provide an opportunity for aspiring performers to gain experience in front of live audiences. While the Open Mic idea was primarily instigated to provide a forum for TAFE music students, the Mic is open to all performers. An entry cost of $2 is waived for performers and proceeds go to the house band for the evening. The cellar Open Mic night will be held tonight from 9pm with house band Kozar Blip.
