Dead Livers CD

The Dead Livers have launched their Greatest Misses CD, featuring three bonus tracks.

Producer and restorer of the Dead Livers ground breaking CD is Nu Country technician Rorie Ryan who built the station's computer after starting on 3RRR-FM as a 15 year old work experience student. Ryan's technology, which gave Nu Country talk back and a computerised sponsorship and music base, has enabled the maverick broadcaster to leap frog his old station.

Nu Country drive DJ Gary Young suffered an aural invasion when he presented Chicken Mary at the pioneer Fitzroy station - workmen in the roof had tuned their radios to Nu Country while Gazza tried to play blues down below. "It was an inside job," says the multi-talented troubadour, "they were all members of Nu Country." Young, whose band The Rocking Emus released the country album, Running Late For Wandong, in 1982, shares the Nu Country drive shift with Bobby Bright who played a busker in new Aussie movie Amy.

Gazza played drums for The Rondells - Bobbie & Laurie's backing band - as a Carey Grammar boy. He also produced the Dead Livers singles Stud Like Me and Star Of The West (the Michael Schack penned saga of the Port Fairy pub once owned by former Collingwood footy star Ronnie Wearmouth before his latest legal altercation with cops as licensee of the Port Hotel in the scenic seaside village.)

Sharing the bill is Echuca born but Warragul reared Marisa Yeaman who ran a close second to Jo Jo in the female vocal section of the Australian Roots Music Awards. Marisa, now a Ringwood based graphic designer, reached the finals with her seven track CD featuring the single Rachel and radio friendly I Don't Wanna Remember.Ms Yeaman's performance was exceptional - her accoustic CD enabled her to showcase the full range of her powerful pitch perfect voice.
